The constant scheduled load shedding in South Africa has commonly been executed an attempt to maintain the long aging coal power plants country. With rise reduction of fossil fuels, efforts eradicate environmental hazards carbon through solar photovoltaic (PV) resources their complete prospect are progress. Africa, and particular town Alice, acquires sunshine annually, making it appropriate harvest energy. This work aims characterize radiation, clearness index (Kt), diffuse fraction (Kd) Africa. Hourly global irradiance were estimated into monthly, seasonal, yearly variations Kt Kd for years 2017–2020. range values describing daily classification sky condition was centered on earlier studies. cumulative frequency distribution analyzed statistically individual month. analyses show that average percentage within period is 11.72% cloudy days, 57% partially 31.28% clear days. findings this research Alice remains a key contender energy conversion location, owing its reasonably high (Kt > 0.40) skies. Hence, essential establish energy-efficiency consumption also performances.
